A lighting installation that sees the steel scaffolding at Section Cafe as a musical staff that records wind, light, temperature, and sound. Rather than a composed score, it makes tangible, through light and sound, the place's own rhythm as it is continually renewed by environment and time.

01 Planning
A staff that transcribes a place
We saw the steel scaffolding at Section Cafe as a musical staff that records wind, light, and sound. The starting point was to reveal the rhythm of the place, continually renewed by season and environment, rather than a composed score.

02 Design
Designing a 26-meter scaffold tunnel
System scaffolding 3 m wide, 6.5 m high, and 26.4 m deep was designed in 22 bays at 1.2 m intervals, and the positions of LED lighting bars and sound were set. Light and content were first simulated on a 3D model.

03 Production
Tracks of wind, sunlight, and starlight
On the themes of wind, sunlight, and starlight, we made tracks in which each row of lighting bars turns on like a note. The flow of light was adjusted through repeated scaffold installation and pixel tests.
04 Operations
A score you walk into
Visitors walked through the 26-meter scaffold tunnel as it shifted between blue and red, stepping into a rhythm where lighting bars light up like notes. By day, the scaffold structure itself became part of the landscape in front of the cafe.
