A media facade created for the 50th anniversary of the Bangudae Petroglyphs in Ulsan, under the theme "Petroglyphs and Sacred Space." Seeing the petroglyphs not as a fixed past but as traces that are erased and revealed again, the work brings the structure of time, in which forgetting and rediscovery repeat, onto the council building.

01 Planning
Petroglyphs erased and revealed again
For the 50th anniversary of the Bangudae Petroglyphs, we saw the carvings not as a fixed past but as traces that are erased and revealed again. We sought to bring onto the building the structure of time in which meaning is rewritten on top of forgetting.

02 Design
A mask drawn on the council facade
We drew an elevation mask along the windows and columns of the council's front, and designed two stacked 30,000 ANSI lumen projectors to cover the single face. One laser was added to emphasize the lines.

03 Production
Whales swimming across the rock face
Whales and animals from the petroglyphs are carved in lines of light and then vanish, and the whole building turns into rock texture and blue sea. These scenes were produced part by part in video and sound.
04 Operations
Nights in the plaza before the council
Every night of the event, the entire council building became a rock face where traces surfaced and disappeared. The audience in the plaza faced both what they had seen and what they had missed.
