"Tunnel of Light" is a site-specific media art installation beneath an elevated railway along the Han River. Beginning with the question "Where are we, and how do we exist?", it captures the vibration and sound of a departing train in real time and translates them into a flow of light and sound.

01 Planning
A tunnel that opens when the train departs
Beneath the viaduct at Jayang Station, we asked, "Where are we, and how do we exist?" The work begins the moment a subway train departs, and visitors are led through two tunnels.

02 Design
Two 32-meter tunnels beneath the viaduct
We divided the site into a 5×8×32 m scaffold lighting tunnel and a laser section outside the piers, and tied LED bars, displays, lasers, fog, and strobes together over DMX and Art-Net. Channel maps and elevation and side drawings were prepared for construction.

03 Production
Turning vibration and sound into light
We created a 16-minute sequence that detects the train's vibration and sound and turns them into a flow of light and sound. After the scaffold tunnel was built, lighting cues were programmed at the console to shape the flow.
04 Operations
People passing through the red tunnel
Every day of the festival from 18:30 to 22:30, light ran through the tunnel each time a train left. Walking between the red tunnel and the lasers, visitors felt anew the sensation between stillness and movement.
