A spatial media art performance that combines experimental music for player piano and saxophone with hologram fans. Holographic images were floated in the air above the stage, creating audiovisuals in which light blooms the way sound grows.

01 Planning
A concert that floats seeds in the air
The starting point was to translate experimental music made by a player piano and saxophone into light floating in the air above the stage. The flow of images blooming the way sound grows became the narrative of the performance.

02 Design
Hologram fans lined up in the concert hall
Hologram fans on tripods were set in a row at the front of the concert hall stage and synchronized by a media server. The spacing and height of the fans were set so that a layer of light sits between the piano and the performers.

03 Production
Particles drawn on spinning circles
We produced audiovisuals centered on particles and circular trails to fit the rotating disc of each fan. Scenes were divided and matched to the music so that the fans connect in sequence and read as one flow.
04 Operations
Trails of light that bloomed with the music
During the performance, the hologram fans lit up in turn with the music and floated particles in the space above the stage. From their seats, the audience watched the sound of the piano overlap with light in the air.
